Troop Withdrawal
Obama has announced the withdrawal of troops from Iraq, promising to remove all combat troops by August 31, 2010. This is three months later than his promise on the campaign trail and there is a good chance that it might be extended again before we hear the end of it. A lot can change in a year and a half and there is still a significant question about what kind of country we will leave behind when we finally pull out. The War in Iraq has been quite controversial since we first invaded in 2003 with the intention of deposing then-Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein and getting rid of the weapons of mass destruction – WMDs. They were never found but it is rumored that Saddam transferred them over to Syria before the Americans could get to them. And that they have remained in Syria since then and might possibly be in some warehouse in Damascus. All of this is unconfirmed, however.
I Was Right!
The Brazilian abortionist thugs that I posted about three days ago have been fully exposed. It appears that the hospital that the nine-year old who carried twins went to has publicly admitted that the claim that her life was in danger was a complete falsehood! What’s more, it appears even that the abortion might have been forced. The mother and the daughter were isolated by hospital staff and the mother was fed lies about her daughter’s life being in danger. The details behind this are still for the moment, unknown, but it has been said that on Monday the full story will be made known by inside sources. This has apparently been a part of an international conspiracy to legalize abortion in Brazil. The doctor has wasted no time milking the publicity generated from the incident and has been excommunicated by Archbishop Sobrinho for his role.
Israel Investigating Actions by Its Own Soldiers
In the midst of a violent military campaign, Israel is investigating potential claims that their soldiers have intentionally murdered Palestinian civilians and destroyed Palestinian civilian property. The claims came from graduates of a premilitary program of a local Israeli college. The head of the program, Danny Zamir, says he fears a serious moral failure on the part of the Israeli Defense Force. There is a good chance that whatever happened, the Arab-Israeli relations will not get any better for some time to come.
The Knicks Lose – BIG TIME!
The Sacramento Kings out in California ran my very own Knicks into the ground last night by twenty-seven points: 121-94 They held onto the lead for the entire game and there was not much the Knicks could do about it. Al Harrington, who averaged 20 points a game, sat this game out. What a shame, the Knicks could really have used those 20 points of his. Nate Robinson managed to pull in 19 points, however. This was the third game in a row that the Knicks failed to break 100 points.
Gotta run now – my friend and I just started a Penguin Passport, which is a list of over 200 different beers from around the world that they serve at this local joint here in Beantown.

Lift one for me!!!
sounds like a good beer joint!
regarding the WMDs in Iraq:
in 2002 the US and UK proclaimed the right to invade Iraq because it was developing WMDs – that was the “single question,” as stressed constantly by Bush, Blair and associates. it was also the sole basis on which Bush received congressional authorisation to resort to force. the answer to the “single question” was given shortly after the invasion: the WMDs didn’t exist.
“Americans do not like to think of themselves as aggressors, but raw aggression is what took place in Iraq,” national security and intelligence analyst John Prados concluded after his extensive review of the documentary record in his 2004 book “Hoodwinked.”
Zbigniew Brzezinski pointed out in the journal “National Interest” that America’s control over the Middle East “gives it indirect but politically critical leverage on the European and Asian economies that are also dependent on energy exports from the region.”
there is little doubt in elite circles as to the real motives for the iraq invasion. the likelihood of the WMDs existing and being moved to Syria is non existent.
